A challenging opportunity exists for a Head of Projects (Oil & Gas) with one of our well established clients within the ocean freight sector.

Requirements:

Relevant Tertiary education qualification
At least 15 years’ related experience of which at least 10 years in a senior management capacity
Deep knowledge of operational processes in the handling of Project/Heavy Lift shipments as well as Oil and Gas shipments.
In depth understating of the Oil & Gas industry
Strong commercial skills, especially in the area of business development

Responsibilities:

Lead, develop, and manage the Special Projects function to achieve a sustainable and long-term competitive advantage. Drive the business performance of the division in order to maximize the P+L results and develop the business on a short and long term perspective.

Assist with the development and formulation of short and long term strategies for the Projects/Oil & Gas Division

Optimise and deliver enhanced profit margins for all projects through the closing of commercially favourable deals including the set-up of pricing strategies and tactics whilst ensuring optimal management of all financial aspects of projects / Oil and Gas product line

Grow and enhance the overall Projects / Oil & Gas product line and service offering to increase company market share and contribute to the delivery of the growth strategy of the business taking cognisance of opportunities and market conditions

Ensure relevance and responsiveness of services offered through the development of an active network, client relationships and continuously researching market and industry developments.

Manage risk and protect the company against financial and reputational damage.

Ensure high level of service delivery through the provision of technical advice, implementation management and support to regional and operational management in respect of the service / product life cycle from inception to completion placing particular emphasis on relevance, efficiency and effectiveness.

Ensure relevance and responsiveness of services offered through the development and delivery of Projects and Oil & Gas logistics solutions to meet customer needs.

Monitor and analyse business performance and take corrective actions when necessary to reach objectives.

Ensure compliance of all relevant legislative as well as company requirements.
