A fast growing, national, private higher education institution in the field of applied psychology is looking for a dynamic professional with strong a networking and supervisory focus, as well as administrative and management skills to take on the position of Head of Work Integrated Learning at its Johannesburg campus.

Position Summary
Managing the overall management of the Work Integrated Learning (W.I.L) Department, on the Johanneburg campus. The role will report directly to the Academic Dean of the College and be working collaboratively with the Academic Team as well as Student Administration on campus.

Primary duties include:
• Responsible for placing W.I.L students in suitable community placements;
• Supervise and support WIL students whilst completing their practical hours;
• Ensuring effective synergy between WIL students and placement sites;
• Teach the WIL Preparatory Workshops;
• Manage the administrative load of WIL students in community placements.

Minimum Requirements

The candidate must have:
• An HPCSA Registered Counsellor (BPsych or BPsych Equivalent) qualification or, alternatively be an HPCSA Registered Counselling Psychologist;
• Three years’ teaching/administrative experience in public or private Higher Education;
• Professional community experience.

The candidate should also have:
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent language skills
• Excellent administrative and time management skills
• Computer literacy skills
• Organisational skills
• Proven prior experience in a senior leadership role and/or professional practice
