FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR JOB VACANCY

DUTIES
• Maintenance of the FSSC 22000 and ISO 9001 Management System files and documentation for all company sites.
• Maintenance of the internal Food Safety and Quality System audit schedule.
• Promoting Food Safety and Quality principles throughout the organization. Assisting with the development and understanding of Food Hygiene Standards and Practices and GMP throughout the organization.
• Participate in both external and internal Food Safety and Quality System audits.
• Conduct Food Safety and Quality audits internal and at suppliers.
• Provide administrative and clerical support to members of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance team.
• Follow up on internal and external audit findings and non-conformances.
• Carry out document control, distribution and communication of changes to the system. Ensure that appropriate records are controlled, while also managing the proper storage and filing of controlled documents.
• Accurately type up, collate and issue records and documents associated with the Food Safety and Quality Management systems at all company sites.
• Document management/archiving control: Ensure that documents are stored and preserved in terms of any internal and statutory requirements for the required retention periods as applicable.
• Co-ordinate monthly FS/HACCP committee meetings and collate the information necessary for review by the Quality and Food Safety Manager/senior team.
• Compile meeting minutes and maintain records for continuous or future reference.
• Reports to Management on opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Control of nonconforming products – follow up on movement of nonconforming product after management decision in terms of food safety requirements.
• Follow up on external and internal laboratory testing with regards to Food Safety and Quality.
• Monitoring of Good Manufacturing Practices at all company sites.
• Training of Quality and Food Safety personnel.

REQUIREMENTS
• Must be a pro-active individual – must be able to understanding and logic to direct own work activity and must be able to apply high level of work ethic to achieve expected outcomes.
• Must be able to work well under pressure.
• Must be able to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to work after hours and on weekends where required.
• Light lifting is required for the movement of documents, records and samples.
• Must be prepared to attend external training where required.
• Assist with ad-hoc duties as per Quality and Food Safety Manager’s instructions.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Be matriculated with Mathematics and Science (Tertiary qualification in a related field will be an added advantage).
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, HACCP or Food Safety Systems such as FSSC 22000, BRC or AIB.
• Can apply ISO 9001 Quality Management and Food Safety systems principles in a manufacturing environment.
• Be computer literate - Microsoft Office package (Excel/Word/PowerPoint) and Outlook.
• Have 2 – 3 years’ experience in ISO 9001 and HACCP/Food Safety co-ordination and administration in a manufacturing environment.
• Good communication skills in English – verbal and written.

• This position reports directly to the Quality and Food Safety Manager
