RedCat Recruitment is urgently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced HEALTH & SAFETY CO-ORDINATOR (PACKAGING / MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY) for a large national concern – position based in the Pinetown area.

REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12.
Qualification in HSE Management.
Samtrac qualification.
Sound Knowledge of the OSH Act.
Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet).
SAP experience a strong advantage.
Experience with implementing SHE processes.
2 years’ experience with HIRA, IOD and Hygiene Surveys.
Ideally 1 – 2 years of experience in the packaging / manufacturing industry.
Maintain Contractor H&S files.
Updating all legal appointments as required when there are structural or leadership changes.
Annual tracking of Evacuation Drills.
Logging all IODs requiring medical treatment with COID.
Reporting of all Section 24 Department of Labour injuries.
Updating IOD graph (DIFR), tracking IOD investigations, and follow up on actions arising from investigations.
Initiating annual refresher training for Forklift Drivers, Stackers, First Aiders and updating certificates and licences on file.
Plan and distribute the Annual H& S Internal Schedule and track action plan of findings with Line Managers.
A member of the H&S Internal Auditor Team – will be required to conduct some of the audits.
Co-ordinate and participate in all Hazard Analyses.
Report on top 10 HIRA scores.
Tracking New Machine Risk Assessment turnaround times.
Document and track all actions arising from annual Hazard Identification & Risk Assessments conducted by Line Managers.
Arrange annual Hygiene Surveys for all high risk areas identified by the HIRA process.
Arrange annual medicals for all employees in high risk areas identified by the HIRA process.
