This position requires a large amount of technical administrative work and attention to detail is extremely important, someone that would enjoy technical documentation would be best suited to this position

Essential requirements : Relevant tertiary qualification ND / BSc: Food Science / Consumer Science / Food Technology 1 to 2 years relevant experience in product development Computer literacy in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Syspro Strong communication and presentation skills (oral & written) Accuracy and attention to detail Ability to function well in a dynamic, team environment (team player), with a positive hands-on Valid drivers license Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following : New Product Development: • Plan, manage and control assigned product development projects received from senior Product developer to ensure that projects demonstrate creative development, to ensure continuous growth and consumer satisfaction. • New product development, alterations and assigned to projects for the compay's Chef Range. • Product development and product support (incl. recipe formulations) for in-store hot foods and related products for the retail supermarkets, catering industry and food manufacturers. • Assist with the loading of recipes, costings and creating of labels. • Loading of new raw material codes, flavour profiles and updating information on all HMR databases and excel sheet documents. • Assisting with testing of new raw materials for new HMR developments. • Partake in all taste panels where requested to assist and with own developments and the testing of new and replacement raw materials. • Collect and interpret information regarding the results of NPD product samples and existing product samples sent to distributors and customers. • Assist with advice on HMR products, recommended recipe’s, flavour profile’s and recipe costing formulations. • The candidate should manage the workload and meet continuous challenging deadlines as specified by the customer and/or other team members.
