To manage the implementation of the company entire landscaping & rehabilitation programme inclusive of managing the nursery, landscaping and alien vegetation control and ongoing maintenance of rehabilitated and landscaped areas

Requirements:

Degree in Horticulture / Landcape Technology / Botany
A Management qualification such as Project and programme management qualification would be also be ideal
4 years’ experience in nursery, plant management or Horticulture environment;
5 years’ experience in landscaping and maintenance;
4 years supervisory experience and dealing with labour related issues
Duties:

Manage Landscaping and Ground Maintenance

Review existing landscaping plans for continuous improvements
Identify new areas in line with company expansion and develop plans for these in line with other landscaped areas
Rehabilitation Planning & Landscaping Planning

Develop, review and update rehabilitation plans in consultation with relevant divisions and authorities
Identify new areas, ensure proper demarcation and incorporate whenever required
Manage Nursery Operations

Develop production plan for the nursery detailing required plant species in line with requirements for planting
Develop, monitor and review stock management at the nursery
Manage the operations in the misting tunnel, potting shed and workshop and ensure maintenance is done on these facilities
Optimize quality and quantity of the plant production at the nursery and ensure amount of plants propagated meets APP targets
Rehabilitation and Alien Vegetation Control

Meet quarter and annual targets in the APP for areas to be rehabilitated
Report on areas rehabilitated
Rehabilitation Maintenance

Develop and implement maintenance plan of rehabilitated areas
Continuously analyze and evaluate appropriate delivery models for undertaking the work
Procurement

Develop specifications for procuring external service providers
Evaluate proposals and submissions
People Management

Prepare work schedules to execute plans
Monitor staff performance and put measures in place to manage performance in line with organisation’s Performance Management system
Contractor Management

Supervise overall company landscaping maintenance contract;
Report on contractor progress and performance when necessary
Legal and Regulatory Compliance

Develop and oversee implementation of measures that ensure compliance to the OEMPs where necessary
Ensure OEMP compliance with the program
Stakeholder Management

Work with relevant Environment Authorities on implementation of plan in the relevant forums
