Job title: Hospital Senior Pharmacy

Reports to: Pharmacy Manager

Location: Pretoria

Job Purpose: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating the pharmacy services within the hospital environment by ensuring that the quality pharmaceutical services, financial objectives, legislative compliance and people management requirements are achieved to the required standards

Qualification & Experience:
• B.Pharm /Dip.Pharm/ B.Sc Pharm
• Relevant clinical knowledge and experience to the critical outputs
• Must be registered with HPCSA
• Understanding of pharmacy and related healthcare industry, legislation, regulations and challenges
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical legislation
• Computer proficiency

Duties and Responsibility

• Report 100% of medication incidents and develop and implement remedial actions as appropriate
• Report 100% of pharmacy alerts and develop and implement remedial action and complete a trends analysis quarterly
• Participate in the implementation and compliance to the organizations quality management system
• Achieve required customer service levels in theatre and wards
• Implement customer satisfaction and pharmacy quality initiatives
• Participate in the active management of cost of sales of pharmaceuticals in line with revenue and budget
• Participate in achieving stock targets
• Recruit, retain, motivate and develop staff according to company people policies and practices
• Provide direction and inspire positive work behaviour in team
