Luxury Hotel urgently seeking a Hotel Accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Finance Manager , the successful incumbent is required to ensure that all internal controls are operational and that the assets of the company is protected as well as ensure alignment and compliance as per company policies and procedures. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS • B. Compt/ Bcom in Accounting ; CTA BCOM Honours (advantageous)• Minimum 3 - 5 years’ relevant financial management and operations experience.• Proficiency with MS Office and accounting packages e.g. Accpac.• Experience in Hospitality accounting advantageous• Proven business and commercial acumen with sound financial management ability, preferably gained from the Hospitality industry • Understanding of auditing & internal control procedures• Working experience with the following essential : General Ledger, Accounts Receivable,Accounts Payable, Cashbook Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and tax legislation• Management and leadership of staff and people-development skills• Understanding and implementation of monthly performance reviews with allsub-ordinates• Ability to work under pressure• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle conflict situations• Strong administration / organisational skills• Positive and helpful attitude to guests and fellow employees• Integrity• Attention to detail and problem solving skills KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY• An understanding of balance sheet reporting and the completion of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work under pressure.• Results, but also people driven, a self-starter with excellent leadership skills.• Actively assist the Financial Manager in conducting financial and statistical analyses, audits into risk areas, monitoring controls, adherence to financial procedures, and the compiling of financial reports.• Check and authorize daily revenue reports.• Assist operating management with the preparation of draft feasibilities and other studies or plans.• Highlight and interpret statistics, variances and profit margins for Department Heads and Senior Management.• Verifies all ledger sources journal entries, and reconciliations at least once a Monthly.• Perform other duties as and when required Apply along with your references + profile photo in professional attire
