Hotel Maintenance Manager
Somerset West
Salary negotiable plus R700 cell phone allowance

This well-known hotel, conference and functions facility requires a pro-active maintenance manager with a preventative attitude to maintenance. He / she will be well-versed in a number of technical areas (plumbing, electrical, general repairs, basic refurbs, etc.) and in possession of a formal technical qualification.

Reporting into the Hotel General Manager, the incumbent will manage a small team of 6/7.

Responsibilities will include:
• Managing the maintenance team within the department including compiling rosters, assigning duties to, training and HR related matters
• Complete operational management and control of maintenance related matters in all departments of the hotel with minimum inconvenience
to guests
• Departmental budget compilation and control of expenditure
• Sourcing and co-ordinating contractors where needed
• Compilation, implementation and co-ordination of a preventative maintenance plan
• Must be available after hours when on call and in the event of emergencies as well as willing to work shifts
• Experience in water works / systems, air conditioning, electrical, generators and general maintenance

Requirements:
• Matric qualification
• Must have at least 3 / 5 years in a similar environment with a technical qualification
• Must be a good time keeper and be able to prioritize work items
• Previous maintenance management experience in a Manager service hotel
• Must be a good communicator and able and experienced in leading a small team
• Must be proactive regarding preventative and scheduled maintenance, both of the grounds and in the rooms
• Computer literate
• Own transport with a valid driver’s license is required
