Our client, a small, privately owned 4* Boutique hotel & conference venue offering seven luxury suites within a beautiful setting in Houghton, Johannesburg is seeking a dynamic hands-on Manager OR Management couple with proven hospitality management experience and a successful track record.

You will report to the Managing Member and will be accountable for day-to-day management of staff and the operations including planning, organising & supervising all hotel services.

Start date: Mid-March 2015 or earlier depending on notice periods. This is an urgent vacancy

Package: R Negotiable. Benefits include on-site accommodation, meals, secure parking

Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:-
• Monitoring quality at all stages of preparation and presentation of food and services. Will be required to prepare and serve breakfast daily
• Organise and control the daily operations to provide guest accommodation, meals and other services.
• Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
• Directing and overseeing reservation, reception, room service and housekeeping activities
• Meet & greet guests
• Recruitment, training and development of staff
• Supervising maintenance, security and supplies
• Ensuring exceptional levels of customer service
• Liason with contractors & suppliers
• Management of all bookings including corporate and leisure bookings
• Banking and handling cash/credit card payments
• Conference management
• Controlling day to day costs and salaries of staff
• Input into Sales & Marketing strategy including social media campaigns and website content
• Maintaining 4*Grading


Essential requirements:-
• Suitably qualified: Matric/Grade 12 + relevant Tertiary qualification (Hotel School Diploma or equivalent)
• Previous experience within a similar role at management/supervisory level
• Proficient in MS Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Good administrative & financial skills
• Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence
• High energy levels
• Self starter
• Good management skills
• Exceptional guest relations skills
• Attention to detail
