An experienced Housekeeping Supervisor is needed for a Certified Top Employer (2015) for a luxurious boutique Hotel & Spa flanked by the majestic Simonsberg mountains in the picturesque Franschhoek Valley, situated on a wine estate with sweeping views of the mountains, lake shore or vineyards.Educational requirements:?MatricHotel School Qualification beneficial ?Major Skill:??2 years Experience previously as Housekeeper? in Hotel Responsibilities:?Create and maintain a stock sheet of all your chemicals used in the Housekeeping Department and update this on a regular basis so as to minimize shortages.Create a stock sheet of all your operating equipment and ensure that this is updated weekly.Create a Stock Sheet indicating all the linen stock that is being controlled by you and maintain this stock sheet on a weekly basis.Ensure that you know at all times where the linen is being utilised in the Hotel. Ensure that Staff signs linen in and out of the Department.Adhere to the policy of clean for dirty.Ensure that you do as much linen in-house as opposed to sending it out. This will ensure a great cost saving.Please ensure that the telephone extension in the Department is not being abused. Keep a daily record of calls that are being made from this extension.Ensure that you at all times adhere to the set standard of the Company with regards to stocking the Guest Bedrooms.Have available storeroom specific stock sheets for easier control.Use the stock sheet on a weekly basis to ensure that the stock is being stored correctly.Every 6 months check with suppliers and compare prices in order to see which supplier will be the cheapest and coordinate with the stores controller.Check, sign off and file on a weekly basis.Reference to Stock reporting procedure to be on hand.Receive issues every morning at 08h00 am or allocated issue times.Complete a Non-conformance checklist and send a copy of this report to maintenance on a weekly basis.Display a Preventative Maintenance Plan in Housekeeping and adhere strictly. Please have this in place each and every month and make changes when necessary.Display Health and Hygiene posters in the Housekeeping department and ensure that Staff adheres to these.Ensure that Staff is correctly dressed and do a weekly-recorded inspection.Dress Charts must be displayed on your notice board.Do a daily spot check on all your stock and compare this with the previous day’s occupancyEnsure that you are present at each stock take Mid-Month and Month End.All stock sheets are to be done in pen and signed off by you for verification.Included in the stock take must be all your operating equipment.Staff Rosters must be clearly visible and controlled and issued on a weekly basis every Thursday for commencement on Monday.Ensure that all Room attendants cover a minimum of 10 rooms per day.Bring back course material back to the unit and implement what has been learned.Ensure that the documentation that is provided by the Company is utilised to its fullest.Please record these other duties for future reference.Visit other units within the Group to establish what they do better than we do and implement.Practical training of staffEnsure that you receive on a weekly basis the Function Control sheets for the following week.Ensure that the correct table linen is available.Ensure that before the conference commences that the room is cleaned.Check 10 rooms daily using the room checklist.Check all Public Areas on a daily basis using the Public Area check list.Update clean rooms on a regular basis throughout the day.To ensure that all rooms are put twice yearly on spring-cleaning program.Rooms are to be spring cleaned as per the checklist provided.Do a VIP by arrival printout every morning and requisition the relevant F&B items for each room.Check the rooms personally before updating them as clean and ready.To ensure that you contact the Guest immediately after the item has been handed in and to ensure that the item is kept in a safe place.To ensure that you make arrangements to have the item returned to the guest.To ensure that you and your Staff assist the Banqueting Department when and if required.?Benefits:Free Funeral CoverFree Business & Life CoachingStaff LunchesCareer Growth ProspectsContinuous training and development Please note: Should you not hear from us within 14 days, please consider your application unsuccessful
