Upon appointment you will be required to complete the following roles and responsibilities:

Job Description:

To assist the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing that all housekeeping staff complete their daily duties and ensuring that all lodge accommodation and public areas are at their best to achieve maximum guest service. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, tidiness, co-operation and guest liaison within the hotel department.

Your poise, manner and attitude are crucial in reflecting the professional image of the hotel which implies competence and professionalism. In order to achieve that image, the standards may involve limiting personal preferences.

Main duties and responsibilities:

To ensure that the day to day operations of the housekeeping department are carried out according to the standards of the company and as specified by senior management
Performance of regular and irregular inspections of your workplace
To manage, delegate, support and assist housekeeping personnel as required
To ensure that all housekeeping personnel are being briefed on their daily duties and any other information pertaining to the department at the start of their shift
To lead by example with appearance and personal hygiene and to ensure that all housekeeping personnel on shift look neat and professional in their respective uniforms
To ensure that the cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation of guest lodges and public areas are maintained at all times according to company standards
To ensure that all repair and maintenance problems that need attention are reported to the relevant departments and to ensure the appropriate action is taken
To carry out on the job training to ensure that personnel are constantly growing and improving
Responsible for training new hires
To maintain a positive attitude and a courteous and professional demeanor at all times
To anticipate and respond to all guest needs quickly, efficiently and courteously
To ensure that any guest complaints are resolved quickly, efficiently and courteously and brought to the attention of senior management
To ensure that monthly stock takes are carried
To accurately maintain the linen stock
To maintain housekeeping consumable stock according to occupancy
To communicate with all other operating departments to ensure that they are informed of any/all matters that concern them.
To follow all reasonable instructions
To report any breach of company policy to senior management
