HR ASSISTANT – CONTRACT (6 MONTHS)

COMMENCEMENT DATE: Immediate

Leading manufacturing company seeks a dynamic, suitably qualified / experienced and well-rounded HR Assistant to join their team on a 6 month contract basis.

The successful candidate will provides Human Resource assistance to the HR Consultant, business leaders, managers and employees on all locally relevant human resources issues and services and supports human resources within the business unit of his/her responsibility.

You will furthermore partner with HR staff from other countries, legal entities and core process groups to manage delivery of human resource services that are critical to achieving business goals and business plan outcomes.

You will also be responsible for ensuring alignment with standardised global strategies, HR operating model and compliance to local laws.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

The Human Resource Assistant liaises with local HR leadership, Business leadership relevant to his/her area of responsibility, other HR staff both local and in centres of expertise and shared service centres, employees in all departments of the organisation, third party providers and external customers.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources or related coursework.
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an HR or related administration Role.
Strong oral and written communications skills across all levels of the organization.
Must have a working knowledge of labour laws and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrate ability to independently organize and perform work activities under pressure, and to simultaneously handle multiple moderately complex projects within specific deadlines.
Ability and willingness to assist others.
Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships across teams and departments.
Intermediate to Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills and able to manupilate spreadsheets
Outstanding e-mail communication skills
Overall Computer Literacy / Tech savvy


RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports the consultation with managers/supervisors on all day-to-day aspects of the workplace including:

policy and programme interpretation,
employee engagement and relations,
performance management,
solutions to ensure talent retention,
organisational change, organisational design issues and facilitation of organizational change efforts,
mediation of discussions and facilitating investigations.
Supports managers/supervisors and employees through the coordination and delivery of human resources programmes and services related to the total employee lifecycle including but not limited to recruiting, on-boarding, compensation, benefits, rewards, training, employee and labour relations, employee exits.
Supports the implementation and execution of HR policies, processes and procedures within business unit, country or region of responsibility. Includes roll out of all annual processes, policy changes/updates, and procedures related to any of the human resource disciplines.
Provides guidance and consultation to managers regarding moderately complex situations in relation to the implementation of new and existing programmes, policies, processes and/or procedures.
Provides HR support to ensure information is developed, maintained and delivered in an effective and efficient manner to ensure awareness within the business unit or country.
Ensures full compliance to changing employment laws.
Supports the consultation with internal clients to determine and prioritize specified needs and provides solutions, HR expertise and counseling regarding moderately complex questions or issues.
Responds to routine requests for Human Resource information including policy interpretation, process information and other questions related to all human resource functional areas. Must quickly assess situations, may consult with human resources centre of excellence partners and make recommendations for solutions to ensure compliance with changing employment laws.
Responsible for day-to-day administration and interpretation of policies and programmes covering several or all of the following:
recruiting and on-boarding,
compensation and benefits,
training and internship programmes,
employee and labour relations,
termination and exit procedures.
