Our client, situated in Midrand, is looking to employ an experienced and dedicated HR Business Partner to effectively develop and implement HR solutions and deliver people management strategies which support the companyĆ¢??s overall strategic aims and objectives. Providing expert professional advice and support to managers and staff including regions on all aspects of HR.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric
  • Higher education – Diploma /Degree in HR/IR Management (essential)
  • 5 years’ HR Generalist/ Business Partner experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Industrial Relations
  • Sound knowledge of Labour Legislations, BCEA and  Code of Good Practice
  • Proficient in HR information systems, Policies and Processes
  • Advanced MS Excel skills

Roles and Responsibilities

Recruitment

  • Execute, align and translate recruitment strategies and policies to be in line with business and employment equity needs
  • Engage pro-actively and utilize solid resourcing solutions in providing a full recruitment & selection process of candidates to fit the role and company culture
  • Assist managers to analyze the skills and qualities required for positions
  • Maintain a library of job descriptions received from managers for respective positions
  • Advertise vacancies internal & external – source CV’s, assess applications, interview suitable candidates and arrange necessary criminal checks
  • Draft offer of employment to successful candidates and ensuring that regret letters are given to unsuccessful candidates

 

New hire orientation

  • Coordinate and manage the orientation of new employees to foster positive attitudes toward company goal and employee evaluations
  • Develop and implement on boarding process of new employees including formal orientation, job rotation training, IT systems and asset process
  • Ensure that the full welcome pack is signed and returned to the HR administrator with all necessary documentation
  • Facilitate the welcome process mailer with marketing on the introduction of new employees to the organization

 

Terminations

  • Manage process relating to resignations, retirement, dismissals, retrenchments and severance
  • Conduct exit interviews with resigned employees

 

Employment Equity

  • Ensure that Employment Equity Policy & Plan objectives are met
  • Consult with managers and give input into development of the EE plans. Identify employment Equity quota requirements and advice on status of compliance to targets

 

Performance Management

  • Manage the performance management process and practices. Implement performance management policy & initiatives
  • Ensure that the process is standardized, monitored and used fairly & effectively
  • KPI’s/Mentorship/Development Programs:
    • Monitor, Implement and review the system of performance appraisals according to deadlines and criteria set
    • Invest, develop and implement best practices for KPI’s, mentorship programmes as well as employee development programs benefiting the employee/business needs
    • Input data collected into relevant CBARS systems so as to effect change and maintain general updates on system
    • Generate reports when and if required

     

    Employee Relations

    • Work closely with senior and regional branch managers, providing them with expert guidance, coaching and support on the full range of HR activities (including policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment, absence management, performance management, etc.), in order to ensure a consistent and fair approach to people management throughout the Company
    • Keep up to date with legal developments, consult and advise management including staff on all Labour relations issues
    • Ensure awareness and compliance of LRA, BCEA and all other labour legislation acts  
    • Facilitate investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters
    • Provide expert advice and guidance on individual employee relations cases, providing suitable solutions
    • Meet the requirements of the policies, best practice and employment legislation
    • Develop, implement and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure effective, fair and consistent management of staff throughout the organization
    • Represent the company at CCMA level
    • Ensure that managers and staff are aware of the Code of Conduct and able to operate them effectively
    • Provide support to staff on HR issues, as and when required
    • Employee Wellness Programme:
    • Coordinate and facilitate the use of the Employee  Assistance Program effectively
    • Ensure that the updates and timeous communication on EAP topics is sent out to employees
    • Ensure that feedback reports are provided from service provider
    • Coordinate and organize formal wellness functions and events nationally with the EAP representatives

     

    General

    • Ensure reward practices, talent management, change management and promotion procedures are implemented and monitored
    • Manage, plan & co-ordinate Internship programme as and when required
    • Represent HR and participate in various internal groups/committee activities across the organization
    • Develop, update and implement all HR policies and procedures.
    • Maintain and update HR information Systems
    • Assist with the managing HR related cost savings , headcount and budgets
    • Adhoc HR projects if and when required
    • Assist with the content of internal business communications, for approval to the Marketing Team.
    • Promote and facilitate the use of the company’s wellness program
    • Provide support to the Regional Branch Managers and regional staff on HR. related matters
    • Build strong relationships within respective business units/departments enhancing organizational development
