HR Business Partner

Our client is seeking an candidate to develop and implement Employee Relations (ER) strategy aimed at dealing with all ER and labour issues.

3. Key Responsibilities expected from job

Facilitate the resolution of conflict through investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes.
Provide advice and guidance on individual employee relations cases, ensuring that these are well managed and meet the requirements of SARU’s policies, best practice and Labour legislation.
Ensure fair and consistent application of HR policies and procedures
Assist GM:HR in developing policies and procedures applicable to SARU.
Assist in updating employment contracts
Keep abreast of all relevant legislation and ensuring that policies and procedures comply with legislative requirements
Represent SARU at the CCMA
Log all non-compliance issues on CRS ER module
Develop and generate ER related reports and presentations
Ensure the submission of EE reports to the DoL and WSP to CATHSSETA
Manage COIDA and facilitate administration of Injuries on Duty accordingly
Ensure that departments have up-to-date job descriptions
Continually improve processes to develop the current PMP system
Develop, plan, evaluate and coordinate Wellness programs and activities eg. Wellness Days, Health and Wellness articles for SARU’s internal newsletter
Drive wellness health initiatives and ensure wellness issues and referrals are managed effectively.
Participate in projects that require expertise in ER, Restructuring, Retrenchments, Mediation etc.

4. Experience & Expertise (Typical educational qualifications and experience)

Educational Background

3 year relevant degree (HR, IR, Social Science or Business Management) – essential

Experience (years and nature)

At least 5 to 8 years’ experience in an Industrial/Employee Relations role - essential

Experience in managing workplace investigations - essential

Experience in external formal dispute resolutions in Conciliations and Arbitration - essential
