Main Purpose
This role will provide HR consulting capability across the entire HR value chain to ensure timely value added service that supports business objectives and people initiatives.
The HR Consultant will work within an identified business portfolio, with a strong focus on recruitment and selection, various aspects of employee engagement, providing guidance and advice to support the line manager in building effective teams to resolve both day-to-day and more complex employee relations issues.
Key Responsibilities
• Consult on transactional/operational HR activities that cover the employee lifecycle and ensure consistent and fair application
• Facilitate the recruitment and selection process
• Support the orientation process for new employees
• Understand the company ER standard operating practices to appropriately advise and enable line to resolve disputes
• Train and implement HR standard operating practices
• Conduct training needs analysis in line with the Learning & Development strategy
• Execute HR initiatives relative to the HR calendar and/or other planned initiatives
• Support the embedding of a performance management culture
• Analysis of the HR reports in order to facilitate various actions that may be required
• Conduct exit interviews and report on trends
• Work in partnership with the HR Business Partner on change and OD initiatives

• Ability to work alone on multiple and diverse projects as well as work with teams
• Ability to establish and maintain solid working relationships with strong influencing skills
• Planning and organising skills and the ability to use initiative

Qualifications & Experience

• HR Degree/Diploma or similar
• Knowledge of the employment legislation, policies and agreements
• 2-3 years’ experience in an HR generalist capacity which would include Employee Relations and Recruitment & Selection
• Working experience in HR across a diverse business portfolio (multiple divisions or regions)
• Driver’s License and own transport
• Regular travel
