HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER (EXECUTIVE LEVEL)

A vacancy has arisen for a Human Resources Manager at our Client within the International market (multiple sites). This is a Senior Management position reporting directly to the Managing Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• HR Strategy: Provide strategic direction in the execution of the HR functions; and lead and direct the HR team to deliver a comprehensive HR service to the business.
• Employee Relations: Provide advice and support on HR issues to employees and management, in keeping with HR practices and culture; building an effective employee relations framework (including works council).
• Industrial relations: Ensure the Company disciplinary code and policies and procedures comply with all statutory Acts, training management on disciplinary code and MEIBC representation. Deal with the bargaining council and unions a pre-requisite.
• Recruitment and Retention: Managing talent and succession planning; taking overall responsibility for recruitment activity.
• Remuneration Management: Conduct market research, job grading and maintain remuneration scales.
• Performance management: Develop a performance management system and train management in the application thereof.
• Job profiling and KPA’s and KPI’s: Ensure job description and KPA’s and KPI’s for each job.
• HR administrative system: Maintain an effective system, including employment contracts, filing, relevant reporting, automation, and ensure proper operation of all HR processes.
• Training and Development: Identify needs, implement suitable programs, evaluate outcomes, develop and compile ATR and WSP, merSETA liaison, identify learnership and funding opportunities and improve new employee induction programs.
• Company Policies and Procedures: Ensuring all Company policies and procedures are up to date and in line with legislation and Company practice; and ensuring management is up to date with changes and new policies.
• HR Budget: Develop, implement and manage departmental budget.
• Environmental Health & Safety and Occupational Health: Manage Environmental Health and Safety and Occupational Health and ensure up to date with all relevant legislation and legislation changes.
• Employment Equity: Update EE plan and reports, EE committee meetings, BBBEE information, submissions to Department of Labour and WCA and be the designated EE Manager for the Company.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Be in possession of a suitable Degree/ Diploma (must have advanced knowledge of HR related legislation and HR best practices).
• Solid experience in labour dispute resolution including CCMA/Bargaining Council.
• 8 Years relevant HR generalist experience with at least 3 years being at a senior management level.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and/or labour intensive environment.
• Leadership and management experience, with particular emphasis in dealing with diverse teams and understanding and reporting to director level.
• Computer Literate (MS Office Suite, VIP payroll system)
• Minimum code 08 / EB driver’s license.
