Our client a risk consulting firm have an exciting opportunity available, they are recruiting for a new position of HR Manager to work in conjunction with their London-based company HR Director to provide wide-ranging HR management support within the Cape Town office.

We are on the lookout for an experienced professional to join their growing Cape Town office.

Responsibilities:
Support the London-based company HR Director in developing a company-wide HR strategy and rolling out global HR initiatives;
Ensuring the South African HR policies are well-developed, up-to-date and in line with company practice internationally (includes travel policies, non-discrimination, expenses, maternity, annual leave, sick leave and disability, etc);
Liaising with SA lawyers to ensure company policies and contracts are legal and appropriate (as regards BCEA and SA Health and Safety laws);
Responsibility for Talent Management, including creating and managing a talent pipeline for the business, talent mapping and contingency planning, benchmarking salaries, constant review of package & benefit breakdown and managing Performance Reviews across the office;
Managing the entire recruitment lifecycle for the Cape Town office, including but not limited to: direct recruitment & headhunting activities, liaising with and briefing agencies, interviewing candidates, and creating a directory of recruitment tools which can be used across departments
Managing the graduate recruitment & mentor program;
Building the brand up as an employer of choice;
Working with the SA Director and UK HR Director to promote the company’s value and culture internally, bringing about any necessary change;
Delivering training to other members of the office, including on HR processes and basic management skills;
Bringing the HR Metrics to life – turning HR data into information which can be used at decision making level;
Act as first point-of-contact for employee HR concerns in Cape Town office & manage all ER responsibilities;
Line manage more junior team members and oversee payroll and administration.

Requirements:
Completed a 3 year degree / diploma in relevant field;
5 + years in a Talent Management focused position;
Strong Recruitment background (either agency or internal);
Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with BCEA and LRA;
Exposure to and experience with HR ER responsibilities;
Experience in policy & process review and creation;
Up to date knowledge of SA Labour best practice;
Experience working in a related role in an environment with top talent, e.g., a top-tier PE, law, accounting, management consultancy firm or investment bank, or a leading customer-facing brand in the retail or services sector;
Ability to line manage, mentor and guide junior team members;
Experience delivering training to colleagues
Strong analytical skills and hands-on attitude;
A pro-active and entrepreneurial approach;
Strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver difficult messages in a professional manner;
Strong administration and analytical skills; and,
Experience of working abroad (desirable)
