HR Officer - Johannesburg East, Gauteng (EE/AA) - Contract - start April

We are currently recruiting for an Human Resources Officer / Generalist (EE/AA) who will be tasked with providing generalist HR and IR management and managing areas including employment equity, employee relations, diversity management, skills development, policies and procedures, HR reporting, BBBEE and HR projects.

You will satisfy the following criteria:

• Degree/or Diploma in Human Resources Management and/or equivalent.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an HR generalist and minimum of 4 years dealing withh Unions and IR matters
• Must preferably have at least 3 - 4 years experience within a Transport / Logistics or related environment overseeing staff compliment of 500 employees or more
• Sound experience of advising on HR issues including employee labour relations and BEE policy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills including participation in staff meetings

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
• Ensure that performance management is standardized. Ensure that all employees are informed of and trained in the application of the performance management model and system. Monitoring, evaluating and reporting results.
• Identify training /skills / competency needs within the organisation. Coordinate career development, succession planning and talent management needs in partnership with line management. Submit the skills development plan within the prescribed timeframe. Identify skills shortages and where there is need to improve and inform management.
• Consult and advise management and staff on labour relations issues. Ensure awareness on LRA, Basic conditions of Employment Act and all other labour legislation.
• Play an active role in the recruitment and selection of staff for the DC and see to it that all related processes and procedures are strictly followed.
• Ensure that absence controls are in place, coaching managers in this area to ensure that absence costs are managed and kept to a minimum

o Location: Successful incumbent will primarily be based in Germiston, Gauteng.
o Duration: 8 Month contract (possibility of conversion to permanent)
o Start Date: 1 April 2018
