JOB TITLE: HR OFFICER

JOB TITLE THIS POSITION REPORTS TO: HR MANAGER

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB PURPOSE: To support HR Manger with full HR functions.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES:
Qualification: HR Diploma/degree or equivalent. Driver’s license

Experience : • Proven 2-3 years HR related experience .

Knowledge: sound knowledge of BCEA, LRA, Skills Development & EE Acts, and VIP Payroll knowledge an advantage.
Skills:, excellent communication and proven organizational skills. Analytical and be able to work under extreme pressure. Customer service orientated.
Attributes: capacity to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive employee information. Be able to
manage multiple projects simultaneously. Responsible and accountable. Plan and prioritise, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands. Demonstrate abilities to anticipate and manage change

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:
Key responsibilities will include:

- Effective recruitment, selection and on-boarding.
- Identify recruitment need and what the business is looking for
- Leading disciplinary
- Liaising with agencies, applicants & Line Managers
- Screen CV's and perform interview, including reference checks
- Schedule interviews (including line management) for shortlisted candidates
- Schedule candidates for assessments (as required by role)
- Advise successful candidates and regret unsuccessful candidates
- Draw up Letters of Offer; once signed, ensure completion of full Engagement Pack
- Manage the new joiner process from offer letter through to joining instructions and induction
- Compile starter packs for new staff
- Ensuring Entry / Exit checklists are done timeously
- Ensure compliance in terms of company recruitment process
- Administer the probationary review periods
- Administration of WCA & UIF Claims
- Assistance with salary benchmarking
- Overseeing employee leave entitlements and benefits
- Dealing with general HR employee queries on a day-to-day basis
- Provide HR support and advice to employees and managers, explaining policies and procedures
in a timely and effective manner

- Handling of any disciplinary matters such as disciplinary hearings and warnings and continually
advise line managers on appropriate disciplinary action to be taken and ensure business
always complies with Company’s disciplinary code
- Update disciplinary tracking system
- Facilitate conciliations and represent business unit at CCMA
- Ensure performance problems are addressed through performance counselling and/or corrective
action
- Liaising with staff about HR issues
- Assist in the development of HR policies and procedures
- Administer and monitor the performance management process and ensure that regular
performance reviews take place, are recorded and feedback given via the HR Manager and
Managers.
- Provide accurate data for and prepare management information reports
- Assisting with the submission of Workplace Skills Plans & Employment Equity reporting
- Carry out any other reasonable ad hoc duties in order to support the HR department
- Undertake other duties as directed by HR Manager commensurate with the post.

START DATE: ASAP

WORKING HOURS: Normal working hours are a 45 hour work week. However, at this stage you are required to work from 08h00 to 17h00 with a 45 minute lunch break. We reserve the right to increase your working hours to the maximum which may be on a Saturday from 08h00-13h00 should your work fall behind, or as management see fit for operational reasons.
