MISSIONS
Within the framework of the department’s objectives and yearly action plans, his/her missions are:
Ensures the smooth running of various administrative functions within the Human Resources Department.
Assists Human Resources Manager in Industrial Relations matters.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
Ensures personnel admin system is updated on a regular basis in order to provide accurate and useful management information.
Ensures that labour laws and regulations are respected.
Ensures good relations with union representatives.
Ensures adherence to Company Human Resources Policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Human Resources Manager with Industrial Relations
Attend to disciplinary and grievance hearings and ensures that procedures are followed.
Attend to CCMA cases when Human Resources Manager is not available.
Attends wage negotiations together with the Human Resources Manager.
Attends management/shop steward meetings and give inputs.
Liaison with Trade Union Officials.
Advises line management on certain IR related matters.
Ensures the completion of all new employee administration forms i.e. pension fund, provident fund, medical aid etc.
Administration of payroll of all employees
Administration, reconciliation and record keeping of sick leave.
Administration, reconciliation and record keeping of leave.
Administration of subsidised housing scheme.
The administration of Provident Fund.
The administration of Pension Fund.
Liaison with Medical Aid and Provident Fund concerning specific employee problems.
Attend to all personnel queries regarding the above mentioned matters.
Perform any other reasonable tasks when requested by the Human Resources Manager

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Grade 12
Degree/diploma in Personnel Management
4 years experience

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Computer Literate
In-depth knowledge of Labour Legislation
Knowledge of negotiation methods
Good knowledge of all Human Resources Systems and practices.
