Job Summary:
To support the implementation and maintenance of the HSE communications program by promoting the activities of the Company to establish and influence opinions and attitudes of internal and local external clients according to sound communications principles.

Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12
• Diploma/Degree in Public Relations and Communication or equivalent relevant three-year qualification
• At least 5 years previous experience in Communication and Public Relations in a formal/ corporate environment
• Registered with PRISA as a Public Relations Practitioner (PRP) or qualifies to register as PRP within 12 calendar months from appointment
• Experience in a Health, Safety, Environmental environment will be an advantage
• Proven computer literacy in MS Office
• Experience of desktop publishing package, such as Corel Graphics suite, Corel Ventura or InDesign
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English
• Valid driver’s license (EB/08)

Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Interpret and support the implementation of HSE internal communications strategy, policy and processes
• Perform internal stakeholder engagement
Co-ordinate, compile and implement internal HSE communication interventions including:
• Facilitating and collecting copy and photographs for internal newsletters and other publications, and the production of draft editions of such publications
• Monitoring and providing content to digital communication systems, e.g. electronic notice boards
• Monitoring, assisting and facilitating corporate identity related issues, e.g. signage, corporate clothing and other branding
• Advise on the planning and assist with execution of internal communication campaigns
• Support business units to effectively communicate their roles, objectives and strategic projects to all employees
• Compile a budget for own activities and ensure adherence to allocated budget
• Render assistance with official visits and functions

• Sound knowledge of the Mining Industry
• Good interpersonal skills and relationships
• Functional ability in photography
• Ability to work in an environment that is both deadline-driven and requires a high degree of flexibility
