Our International Client is a leader in the Renewable Energy industry based in Cape Town. They have an opportunity for a HSE MANAGER to join their EPC Team in the Northern Cape on a Fix Term Contract of minimum 12 months.

MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS:
• Diploma or Certificate e.g. SAMTRAC; Nebosh
• Excellent knowledge and experience in Occupational Health and Safety requirements and OSHAS 18001 Safety Management System
• 5 years’ on-site experience in Renewable Energy, especially Solar background is imperative;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritising of workload with attention to detail;
• Computer literacy with good numeracy skill;
• A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning;
• Self-motivated with a willingness to accept responsibility and challenges;

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Duties & Responsibilities
• Follows regulatory practices and rules
• Promotes hazard reporting and ensures effective safety reporting
• Models and promotes an organizational culture that fosters safety practices through effective leadership
• Provides and articulates information regarding safety issues within the organization
• Assists in the continuous improvement of the hazard identification and safety risk assessment schemes
• Environment, Security and Building maintenance
• Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices
• Perform safety audits and inspect facilities and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance
• Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment
• Investigate industrial accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures, and manage return-to-work activities
• Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes
• Coordinate employee safety programs to determine their adequacy including review of short- and long-term strategic safety planning and development
• Order and maintain facility safety inventory including supplies and equipment
