HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

SETA seeks to employ a suitably qualified and competent Human Resources Manager. The successful incumbent will be based at Head Office (Midrand) and will report to the Senior Manager: Corporate Services.

The SETA’s period of establishment (License) is from 01 April 2011 to 31 March 2018.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources
• At least three years working experience Human Resources experience at Senior Management level
• A valid driver’s license and own car
• Previous exposure / experience of a SETA environment advantageous

ATTRIBUTES:

• Sound communication in English (oral and written)
• Must be a peoples person with sound interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Planning and organising skills, Good presentation skills
• Ability to work closely with Senior Managers
• Good knowledge and understanding of Labour legislation, e.g. BCEA, LRA, EEA, SDA, etc.
• Experienced at representing organisation at CCMA
• Problem solving, conflict resolution and decision making skills
• Ability to write comprehensive reports in English
• Registration with South African Board of People Practice (SABPP) will be an added advantage

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Oversee daily operations of the HR business unit, including Payroll
• Provide strategic H.R leadership and advice to the organisation and ensure good corporate governance in respect of HR matters and implementation of best practice
• Develop annual HR Plan and ensure the successful implementation thereof
• Training & Development aligned to WSP and training budget
• Talent management
• Ensure HR business unit receives no material audit findings
• Manage Health & Safety and comply with OHS Act
• Advise management of and implement changes to relevant legislation
• Develop, align and ensure consistent application of Human Resources policies, systems and practices aligned to organisational strategy and relevant legislation
• Annual review of company policies & procedures aligned to relevant legislation and best practice
• Drive and facilitate the development of an effective HR information system that enhances decision making and informs the design of strategic interventions
• Facilitate a high performance culture and promote sound labour relations

• Employment Equity manager
• Ad-hoc general duties
