Title: Coding Evangelist
Salary: ZAR TBC + commission
Location: Sandton/Midrand with travel across the country
This unique and exciting opportunity has come up for a contagiously enthusiastic individual who will be tasked with running programs that engage, enable and expand coding awareness and learning opportunities in South Africa. We are creating a movement of coding communities and clubs throughout South African Secondary Schools and we need you to the catalyst and facilitator for Roadshows, training and interschool competitions.
Building on your technical as well as communication skills, you’ll act as a subject matter expert on the coding awareness drive, while at the same time diligently advocating on behalf of this program. In this task, you’ll be responsible for not only delivering results directly, but also contributing to developing systems, tools and processes that scale as the program grows.
Whether you are an energetic professional with sales experience, a software developer with a desire to build great things away from the keyboard, a humanities major who’s been coding on the side, or anywhere in between, if finding solutions for the South African educational crises excites you, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
? Drive coding awareness programs across the country
? Engage stakeholders at all levels – townships/schools/government/corporates etc
? Manage a team of Coding Enthusiasts
? Manage a National Coding Campaign
Minimum requirements:
? 2-5 years in an external facing position- sales/marketing/customer success and satisfaction
? New business development experience
? Top-notch written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to drive consensus with diverse stakeholders at all levels
? Advanced PC Skills
? Demonstrated technical proficiency at using analytical thinking and formal frameworks to solve multi-faceted problems
? Genuine passion for enabling and advocating for people, projects and organizations to achieve their full potential
? Self-starter with strong strategic intuition and excellent project and program management skills
