ICT Business Relationship Manager

Applications are invited for the above mentioned position in the Information & Communications Technology Department based  in Stellenbosch. This position will report to the Group ICT Manager and will be supported by ICT Business Analysts as well as an Enterprise Architect.

Purpose of the position:
The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) will be responsible for managing all Business Function facing activities for ICT. This includes engagement, developing relationships, understanding business direction and needs, driving the formulation of solutions and roadmaps. This role will also assist to develop and manage a portfolio of projects and services as required to support the business needs and direction. In particular, this position will be focused on the holistic view of the Business Function(s).

Key performance areas will include, but are not limited to:
  • Understanding of business function strategies and processes to provide new capabilities that will address transformative/optimization requirements;
  • Design, develop and maintain a conceptual architectural view for ICT, including views for international business support and ensure alignment to business strategies and plans;
  • Inform business of ICT trends and capabilities;
  • Facilitate pre-project business solution design and business case development, technology design and resource allocation;
  • Participate in project prioritization forums with business function;
  • Communicate ICT project progress to business function;
  • Develop a business focused culture within ICT.

The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification;
  • Strategic thinker with at least 8 years of experience in a relevant management field;
  • A solid ICT background with technical acumen in one or more technology disciplines;
  • Business acumen in at least one of the Business Function domains (Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, Finance, HR etc.);
  • Ability to build relationships with business stakeholders at varying levels of seniority;
  • Proven people management, leadership and facilitation skills;
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills at all levels.
