Requirements:
• Grade 12 / Matric (essential)
• Industrial Engineering Degree / Diploma
• 3 years experience within the steel / engineering industry or automotive or manufacturing industry
• Drivers License (essential)
• Computer Literate (essential)
• Qualified (Completed Practical Training P1 and P2)
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written in English and Afrikaans
• Sociable and pleasant
• Hardworking, dedicated, committed and loyal
• Willing and able to work irregular and long hours if required

Duties:
• Development of manufacturing methods to improve material handling
• Apply sound Industrial Engineering techniques to improve operating performance and reduce wastages and delays
• Ensure high production and produce cost reductions
• Plan, coordinate and maintain all manufacturing information and systems
• Develop and implement quality control systems throughout the welding department
• Analyze and improve logistics within department
• Develop most efficient ways to use people, machines, materials, information and energy to make a product or service
• Coordinate the movement of raw / finished products from point of origin to point of consumption
• Optimize methods of organization
• Study product requirements and design manufacturing and information systems to meet requirements
• Develop management control systems
• Perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes
• Assist in financial planning and cost analysis
• Design methods to ensure product quality
• Determine most viable plant and factory locations
• Resolve production problems
• Design layout of equipment and workspace
• Estimate production costs
• Evaluate accuracy of production and testing equipment
• Study and rearrange org charts, material flow and operation sequence
• Carry out production management
• Control duties by recording the movement of products through the production process against pre-planned schedules
• Identify production backlogs or short falls in quantities
• Solve problems or situations that the foreman of the department report using Industrial Engineering techniques
• Sound experience and understanding of quality management principles
• Understanding of welding processes
• Provided on the job training to all subordinates
