This person will report into the Group Manager Liquid Innovation

Purpose Statement of Position

To ensure optimal operation and utilisation of the Innovation Cellar to service Innovation Projects and Programs for value

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
Strategic & Financial Results:
• Maximum utilisation of innovation cellar and advanced analytical chemistry capability and capacity to fulfil strategies and requirements for liquid innovation
• Manage and maximise the Innovation Cellar to service Innovation strategies and ad hoc requests
• Translate consolidated analytical chemistry results obtained from liquid assessment into Innovation special projects to influence strategic programs and decisions
• Manage Business and Budget Plans as per DMOS cycle requirements
• Manage Innovation Value Engineering via new technology advancements to support Business on targets set

Operational Results:
Manage the Innovation Services in support of liquid innovation
• Manage and maximise Innovation Cellar capability and capacity to deliver on liquid innovation project requirements
• Manage ad hoc small runs commercial bottling requirements
• Competitor Product Liquid assessment and in-depth understanding in order to articulate and report impact and influence business decisions
• Conduct basic and advanced data analysis on analytical chemistry data to identity trends to identify and execute on Innovation Programs to share and influence relevant stakeholders and strategies

Build effective relationships with external and internal stakeholders
• Display a high level of credibility, trust and respect across stakeholder groups
• Establish strong external network partners for additional, advanced and independent analytical chemistry capabilities to support innovation programs

Lead and pro-actively coach teams in advanced chemistry and innovation cellar

• Drive you own development to ensure specialist knowledge/skills remain world class
• Team to operate at desired competence in line with role profiles as agreed through competence self-assessments

• Pro-actively coach teams on chemistry and innovation cellar processes capability within the company

Innovation & Improvement Results
Drive innovation and improvement in advanced chemistry to give the company a competitive advantage
• Continuously benchmark new innovative cellar equipment relevant for best in class scale up of liquid innovation
• Manage advanced analytical chemistry to take the company to the forefront of chemistry innovation
• Sensitise business on intelligence obtained through innovation projects and programs on wine, ciders, RTDs and spirit

The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:
• Relevant MSC qualification in a relevant discipline (Chemical Engineering and Packaging)
• Minimum +5 years relevant experience in related industry
• Basic and advanced Data analysis competency

Demonstrates proficiency in the following Marketing competencies:

• Innovation framework, processes and systems - Knowledge of, and ability to design, develop and implement the innovation framework, business processes and systems that are based on best business practice principles (BBP).
• Innovation Portfolio Management - Management of the Innovation portfolio through making choices that prioritises projects and resources, to ensure focus and alignment with business strategies to maximize sustainable innovation value
• Packaging Innovation - Influencing packaging decisions through sound knowledge of material types , formats , Supplier capabilities and Operational processes
• Commercial Fluency - Balance long and short term business value generation through the regular application of integrated commercial principles across the whole value chain and P&L levers in order to take ownership and drive course corrective actions with rigour
• Liquid Innovation - Knowledge of all liquid development (flavoured and traditional) and production processes and aspects for innovation and latest technologies and advanced methodologies available. Transformation of technical intelligence into relevant and scalable liquid innovations across various product categories. Ability to design and develop liquid solutions in line with business strategies towards preparation for implementation. Awareness and understanding of global liquid trends as well as competitor products
• Phase-in Phase-out Management - Effective and efficient PIPO management of projects through cost effective implementation and strategy alignment to maximize business value
• Project Management - Knowledge of project management within the organization and related to own functions and the ability to utilise this knowledge to manage/ participate in projects in area of responsibility. The ability to manage projects and co-ordinate different project activities and support functions/ disciplines, as well as the administration of projects from the conceptual design to completion, within approved budgets & timelines
• Innovativeness - Knowledge of all best business practices principles (BBP) and procedures (people/ process interventions). Ability to implement principles and procedures as part of best practices, processes, control implementation planning and the application of the latest development in the market to facilitate implementation
