Instructional Designer (AA)

Area: Sandton

Package: Negotiable up to R750000 CTC P/A

Main Function: The Instructional Designer will create, maintain, modify and improve learning material and assessment tools based on learning objectives. The Instructional Designer will create online learning Programmes, using multimedia authorizing tools. To research, design, develop and maintain learning programmes and assessment tools, both technical and non-technical for all employees up to junior level management.

Key performance areas
• Analyze Learning and People Development requirements
• Design e-learning material
• Develop e-learning Curriculum and Programmes
• Conduct in train-the-trainer initiatives to ensure facilitator capacity
• Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of programmes
• Effective self-management and teamwork

Minimum Academic Requirements, Professional Qualifications, and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Instructional design with 3-5 years related experience
• Strong knowledge and previous training /training management experience in the Retail experience
• Instructional design expertise in the areas of needs assessment, content design and development, and evaluation.
• Knowledge of adult learning, micro learning and training techniques.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat Pro.
• Video editing skill is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in content development, copywriting, with a mastery in technical-writing and copy-editing, including a strong focus on maintaining brand standards, grammar, punctuation, formatting.
• Ability to condense complex, technical information into engaging training content.
• Curriculum planning skills
• Basic HTML programming skills
• Solid knowledge of course development software
• Visual design skills, multimedia authoring tools (Lectora) and ability to storyboard
• Solid knowledge in design of outcomes based learning material and assessment tools.
• Ability to develop workflows and business procedures
• Knowledge of relevant legislation
• Certificate in Curriculum Design & development is an advantage
