Our client, a leader in the Mining Electronics, Systems & Support Industry is looking for an qualified and experienced Instrumentation Technician to be based at Sasol in Secunda in the Mpumalanga province.

The appointee will:

Be in possession of an N6/S4 & Trade certificate or a T4 with a suitable instrumentation background.
Technician will be in position of a N3 and 8 Years’ experience.
Have at least 5 years’ experience in Process Control Systems.
Be fully computer literate and good communication and management skills.
Have good knowledge on Ethernet/Control Net/Device Net/HART protocol.
Be able to operate without the support of external contractors
Appointees must be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test.
It would be advantageous if applicant have knowledge and experience on the following:
Rockwell Automation Equipment and Software experience. (PLC, SCADA, VSD, Soft starters).
Fire Detection and gas monitoring systems (Spero).
Seismic detection systems.
Siemens OTN.
Have knowledge of Network Topology
And be registered as a professional Technician at an accredited institution.
Knowledge of SQL database integration.

Key responsibilities include:

Ensuring health and safety
Installation & Maintenance of all types of Field Instruments.
Candidate must be able to develop and maintain software based on the logic requirements.
Producing reports to assist senior management in decision making
Making recommendations on equipment and systems improvements, which could contribute to improved system performance.
Ensuring that all relative procedures are in place.
Ensuring that all company standards are adhere to at all times.
