JOB SPEC
INSURANCE SALES CONSULTANT – MIDRAND
SALARY: R10 000 per month + comm (depending on experience)

Purpose:

Promotes and sells Insurance products to maximize sales by providing existing and potential customers with expert assistance and by offering a high level of customer service. Generates leads electronically and manually to achieve set sales targets.
Responsible for a combination of sales and customer service, both pro-active and re-active. Duties include cross-selling to clients as well as nurturing the client relationship.

Accountabilities:

• Promote and sell insurance products to current and prospective customers
• Up sell to existing policy holders
• Verifies the customer prior to divulging any personal details for security purposes, understanding
• reasons for disclosure under both FAIS and FICA
• Explain product and contract to the customer
• Ensure up to date with latest product and related information
• Provides quality service to customers by ensuring accuracy in recording of data
• Provides accurate product information to clients in line with standards and protocols
• Ensures the quality of service exceeds customer expectations and establish constructive relationships with client base
• Adhere to quality standards
• Adhere to FAIS act at all times
• Control sales workflow, and contact new leads and obtain necessary information and documentation
• Present quotes to potential clients and ensure quote information is correct before presenting to client
• Prepare and process quotes on the relevant system
• Provide professional and accurate advice on cover, exclusions, terms and conditions and ensuring clients are advised of any underwriting
requirements in terms of the policy
• Ensure that documentation is correctly completed and follow up on outstanding documentation
• Follow up on quotations already produced and not yet accepted by clients
• Ensure monthly sales targets are met or exceeded
• Handle relevant queries when necessary
• Support, actively participate and contribute towards team initiatives and any new departmental strategies
• Keep up with market trends within the insurance industry and be aware of competitors' products/ offerings
• Conducting client needs analysis and providing quotations
• Following up on leads and servicing existing members
• Compiling reports on sales activities
• Customer relations
• Convert quotations to sales, in line with the minimum monthly targets

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric or equivalent
• 2 - 3 years’ related experience (Sales, Call Center, etc)
• Outbound sales experience preferable
• Registered as a representative with the FSB in terms of the FAIS Act
• RE05 (preferable)
