The purpose of this role is to lead the insurance Tax function and to take responsibility for all the direct tax and indirect tax functions within the Insurance group, to ensure tax compliance and to manage tax risk and liabilities.

• Ensuring tax compliance with regards to Direct and Indirect Tax.
• Managing the tax liability for companies within the Insurance Group.
• Providing technical assistance and opinions with respect to new and existing products.
• Liaison with SARS with respect to queries, audits and reporting obligations.
• Liaison with auditors and external parties as and when required.
• Managing tax related projects as and when the need arises.
• Coordinating tax training. Tax reporting to various committees within the Group.
• Ensuring that one stays updated with changes to tax law.
• Developing staff
