Purpose of the Job:
• Develop software components from specification
• Design, Implement, Test and Document software components

Main Functions:
Technology Experience:
• 2 to 5 years practical Java development
• Firm understanding of design patterns
• UML modelling and design
• Sql development experience essential
o Oracle, IBM DB2
o Combined with ORM mapping-eg IBatis, Hibernate
• Experience in the middleware environment
o Websphere, Weblogic, Tomcat
• Experience with web frameworks
o Struts, Spring, JSP, JSON, XML
• Working knowledge of webservices.
• Use of IDE, version control and build tools with preference to:
o Eclipse, IntelliJ, CVS, Ant
• Subscribe to the Agile development methodology paradigm-eg Scrum, XP
o Unit Test Driven
• Linux is the preferred operating system
