Internal Audit Specialist (Transactional Banking)
Introduction
Our client in the banking sector is looking for an experienced Internal Audit Specialist with Transactional Experience.
Description
Minimum Education
Bachelors Degree, preferably in Business, Finance or Accounting,
Completed CIA
Minimum Experience
At least 3 years' experience in internal or external audit preferred.
Transactional banking experience is a non negotiable
At least 2 years’ experience in banking and financial services environment specifically relating to Retail Banking will be an advantage
Competencies
Thorough knowledge of bank policies, procedures and practices, particularly within Retail Banking and related products, with sufficient knowledge of laws and regulations governing banks.
Strong knowledge and experience with South African banking regulations and any legislative changes that are likely to impact our industry.
Strong analytical skills particularly in regard to assessing the probability and impact of an internal control weakness.
Proficiency in risk analysis and report preparation.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and desire to learn quickly, being agile and nimble while thinking strategically.
Excellent communication (i.e., verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management and influence change.
Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability.
Analytical skills and experience in data analytics (e.g. ACL, SQL, IDEA, Advanced Excel)
Computer literacy (MS packages, Accounting Package, processing systems)
Ability to work with little or no supervision on audit assignments, determining when to act independently and when to refer situations to superiors
Results orientated and deadline driven
