Responsibilities:
Guide and direct operations employees to implement requirements of the Safety System correctly
Measure implementation and assist with guidance for corrective action through Internal Food & Occupational Safety Audit and report process
Report on implementation progress and findings
Identify risks pertaining to specific business units and business activities
Identify correct and appropriate risk mitigation actions
Prepare business unit for external 3rd party annual audit process
Conduct internal refresher training related to safety outcomes
Conduct thorough investigation into customer complaints reported, vertically through the supply chain
Plan and assist with mock product recalls within business unit to determine level of consumer protection

Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years work experience in food manufacturing or distribution industry
Diploma in Food Science and Technology (3years) or equivalent
Accredited training and successful completion of the following:
HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)
Good Manufacturing / Distribution Practices (GMP/GDP)
Internal Food Safety Auditor qualification an advantage if registered with SAATCA as an auditor
Understanding and practical application of ISO22000:2005 – Internal Standard for food safety and FSSC 22000
Occupational Health and Safety Risk Assessment training – identification of Hazards and Risk Determination
Sensory evaluation of food products
Basic food science or product development
