The BOARDROOM-REFRESHING RECRUITMENT seeks a Sales Manager to oversee & bring in INTERNATIONAL Business. *** Specifically ***seeking a candidate with DMC experience for 5* properties (DESTINATION MARKETING COMPANIES) to be based at their Head Office in JHB. INTERNATIONAL experience paramount. The Sales and Marketing Manager will be the key person to ensure the hotel/ resort’s brand and reputation is aptly established in the desired markets. If you meet the criteria below, then I would like to hear from you!Key Focus Areas The first key focus is re-igniting domestic relations with DMC and the inbound operator network. This may entail revising commission structures, offering specific value-adds or bespoke packaging to high-value operators. Key within this focus is the activation of operator engagement to utilise as the Mozambican Beach partner of choice. The key result of these actions will be an uptick in occupancy levels over a period of time.The second key focus of the role will be the increase of average guest rate. This would need to be driven through strategic sales into better producing markets and simultaneously increasing market awareness and an up-tick in sales.The Sales and Marketing Manager will need to develop relationships with key market players and ensure the resort has the right partnerships and site inspections visiting the property.Further key areas of growth for is the bush and beach market, international wedding market and the international markets and it would be important to entice this market with the appropriate packagesTogether with Executive Management, the Sales and Marketing Manager should strategically plan annual sales trips and identify new target markets for in order to create sales opportunities in these markets. Primary Responsibilities:• The Sales and Marketing Manager is the head of the sales and marketing department.• He/she will work closely with the General Manager and Managing Director to determine appropriate sales strategies in all market segments towards maximising the hotel revenues• The Sales and Marketing Manager is also responsible for optimising general business opportunities in the high-end corporate market and wedding industry• He/she will need to develop strategic relationships and expand reach (through direct, agents, operators and word of mouth marketing) within the international markets such as USA, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Portugal as well as domestically in SA and Maputo• The Sales and Marketing Manager will need to create lucrative sales targets, networks and business relations with corporate clients, like airlines, tourist offices, different booking services, film location scouts etc.• He/she will need to observe the market, identify trends and monitor competitors whilst constantly implementing strategies to be the market leader• The Sales and Marketing Manager will be responsible for key accounts and stakeholder management and will focus on maximising sales activities in all regions• He/she will need to strategise and implement the PR strategy in conjuction with the Marketing Coordinator and Guest Relations ManagerStaff Management• Provide effective leadership through professional management and encouragement of all subordinates.• Carry out regular, meaningful meeting for coaching of team members and performance appraisals at bi-annual intervals.• Ensure that training is implemented and maintained.
