Inventory Controller – Engineering/Manufacturing Industry

Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:
• Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Inventory Control or Financial Accounting specific to the role.
• 5-10 Years-experience in inventory control is essential.
• Previous experience in Engineering/Manufacturing industry.
• Previous experience working on any ERP (Syspro/Pastel or related) is essential.
• Must be computer literate with intermediate Excel skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Must be well organised with excellent attention to detail.

Main Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate record of inventory and stock management systems according to set standards.
• Ensure regulation of ‘in-stock’ level complies with inventory parameters, tracking orders and investigating problems.
• Performing physical inventory counts and reconciling actual stock counts to computer generated inventory reports.
• Develop inventory control measures that promote lower cost of sales, shorter lead times, and reduced stock levels.
• Produce daily reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and any discrepancies addressed and resolved.
• Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved.
• Oversee the standard of merchandising to ensure appropriate presentation of stock.
• Engage in the forecast of supply and demand to obtain information useful in improving the continuity of supply chain.
• Oversee the functionality of electronic ordering systems.
• Maintaining the warehouse/storeroom IRO goods received and returned and ensure proper arrangement of inventory items/categories.
(Receiving, unpacking, re stocking items as necessary, proper labelling of shelves).
• Carry out stock management operations in line with set policies and procedures.
• Utilize specialized programs in maintaining record of store execution performance.
• Conduct assessment of supply chain to identify risks and develop solutions useful in minimizing losses.
• Ensure that Purchase Requisitions are prepared for the required inventory items and that they are delivered on time.
• Receiving delivered goods and confirming that they match purchase order specifications of quantity, quality etc. Ensuring that all inventory
records (paperwork) are accurate as per the Companies ERP system.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with suppliers and customers (internal & external) to enable easier procurement of
products.
• Work alongside relevant staff (stakeholders) to ensure required inventory goods (inputs) are readily available
• Ensure purchase inventory is within specified budget; readily notifying the relevant manager when budget is exceeded.
• Ensure that inventory levels are maintained at the (min/max) target levels and report variances to the relevant manager.
• Assist Senior Management Accountant with the weekly/monthly inventory counts (interim and final).

Salary Range: R 20 000 to R 30 000 CTC
