IR Manager

Location: Pietermaritzburg, KZN
Salary: R30k per month

Requirements:
A formal tertiary qualification in IR essential
Honours qualification advantageous
5-10 years IR experience within the LOGISTICS industry essential
3-5 years within the industry in a senior role essential
Excellent communications skills essential
Dynamic, innovative and structured individual
Valid driver’s license
Advanced Microsoft office and reporting skills

Duties:
Co-ordinate and control a sound industrial relations climate by attending to and guiding disciplinary and grievance processes
Reporting to specific Committees on the status of the function
Capacitating Management on the application and interpretation of policies and agreements and attending to administrative requirements with respect to the preparation, circulation and maintenance of reports, correspondences and notifications,
Co-ordinate and control procedures and research sequences associated with Disciplinary and Grievance cases and inquiries
Prepares and represents the Organisation in cases referred for Conciliation/ Arbitration,
Provides practical training and guidance to Management on procedures and applications associated with specific Industrial Relations processes,
Preparing reports on Disciplinary/ Grievance cases referred and attended to, outlining outcomes/ awards for submission to the National HR Manager and specific Committees for perusal and comment,
Compiling and presenting reports, referring to statistics to describe the industrial relations climate in the organization,
Corresponding with the Trade Unions on specific issues or requests (reasons for specific actions/ decision against member, shop stewards time –off, etc.) and scrutinizes responses prior to circulation, attending national meetings and ensuring a positive relationship thereof always,
Maintaining case files containing all documents, correspondence and outcome/ award determination and/ or accessing/ retrieving information upon request,
Employee relations site visits on a quarterly basis to meet with employee’s representatives and management to resolve any issues and to ensure fairness and stability,
Ensuring stability in relation to customer service levels nationally through proactive engagement and communication to prevent illegal work stoppages and go slows,
Ad hoc tasks as required
