A Pharmaceutical Company based in Bryanston, has a vacant position for an IT Business Support person.

Position Purpose
To support and maintain the organisations IS/IT system including IS/IT advice and first line support, 2nd line in country (where applicable), IS/IT training, desktop provision, network infrastructure and associated software and business applications and liaising with vendors and service providers.
Aligning with local and global IS/IT standards and requirements.
Internal Customers: Computer users at all levels and all departments, both South Africa and Sub Saharan Africa countries
External Customers: Vendors; Global IS/IT, Service Providers
Main Responsibilities:
•First line support / 2nd Line support in country
oProvide first line support and training to new and existing users on their use of standard IT applications.
oManage all calls logged on the helpdesk and ensure effective and timely resolution of technical problems.
oMonitor all calls on the helpdesk and escalate to service providers and vendors. Keep staff informed of the status of their request for support.
oRecord all calls not logged electronically and encourage use of proper IT channels
oCreate new and update existing IS/IT related manuals. Document solutions to problems regarding standard IT applications.
oTroubleshoot system and network problems and diagnose and solve hardware/software faults.
oReport communication problems to Telkom and ISP (Internet Solutions) and follow-up.
•Maintained systems
oUser account maintenance using global systems (Pharos, SAP etc).
oUpdate and maintain the IT asset register and contribute to auditing of IT licensing arrangements.
oContribute to the proper installation and maintenance of hardware and software.
oUndertake the daily operation of backup procedure and report.
oMaintain IS/IT global standards.
•Maintained IS IT department administration
oComply with and implement business and admin system requirements.
oAdhere to company policies and procedures.
oWork with the procurement team to co-ordinate the effective and timely supply and distribution of IT consumables.
oCreate new and update existing IT/IS related policies & procedures.
•Project effectiveness
oActively participate and contribute in project teams.
oImplement project deliverables.
oPart of a project team to design and implement identified IT/IS projects

•Adverse Event Reporting
oReport any adverse event that you become aware of with an AstraZeneca product within 24 hours to the patient safety department

Minimum Requirements
•Matric / Senior Certificate with Relevant tertiary qualification an advantage
•A+ or N+ certificate, other IT certifications an advantage
•IT Administration work experience
•Computer literate (advanced)
•Minimum 3 years Helpdesk / Business support experience
•Minimum 1 year IT Infrastructure support an advantage
•Minimum 3 years’ experience working with Microsoft applications
•Mobile technology and solid tablet experience (preferably Apple iPad experience)
•Cloud based application experience
