Our client in the long term insurance industry is looking for a Specialist in IT Compliance to ensure that IT is compliant to best practices and take practical steps to achieve the objectives set out by the IT Steering Committee.
Responsibilities:
Software Licensing
- Consolidating and identifying an organization’s license entitlement
- Combining and normalizing inventory data from multiple sources
- Creating and managing a centralized view of an organization’s licensing renewals
- Reconciling an organization’s software installs and usage against the entitlement
- Working out upgrades, downgrades and technology guarantees
- Managing the compliance of the virtual environment
- Creating detailed management reports
- Compiling inventory and entitlement data
- Auditing and managing license agreements
- Responding to software audits
- Dealing with ad-hoc SAM requests
- License reconciliation against entitlement
- Compiling install and software usage data or
- Negotiate new software contracts and agreements
- Re-harvest unused licenses
- Optimize current entitlement allocation
- Completing projected license modelling exercises for internal projects and to meet organizational growth
- Identifying, implementing and managing software processes and policies around:
- Software requests
- Procurement of licenses
- Deployment of software
- End of life and technology refreshes
Change Management
- Chair the Change Control meetings;
- Ownership of the change management process;
- Ensure that only authorised changes are implemented;
- Assess the impact of changes before implementation;
- Veto changes where it negatively impacts the business
Audit and Security
- Ensure security audits are conducted;
- Conduct follow up on security assessments;
- Conduct follow ups on IT audits;
- Reports on security assessments and IT audits.
Incident management
- Ensure that an incidents are dealt with in a speedily manner; and
- Conduct post mortems on all major incidents.
Requirements:
- Matric
- National Diploma/Degree in IT
- ITIL
- Certified Software Asset Manager
- IT experience: 10 years
- Insurance industry experience: 5 years (advantage)
- Software Asset Management Experience: 5 years
- Have had exposure to Corporate financial insurance services industry
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to communicate at all levels using different channels/media.
- Report writing is essential.
