We have an exciting job opportunity for you to join a leading leisure and hospitality group. This company are looking for an IT Database Administrator (Oracle) to join their team in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring and maintenance of the Oracle database server software. Your key job responsibilities as the IT Database Administrator (Oracle) in Johannesburg will include:
- Understand the standards defined by Oracle and define requirements for the operational environment
- Collaborate with management, determine and create a database roadmap for design, development and storage of Oracle software and database
- Design and maintain physical and logical storage structures
- Plan the relational design of the database objects and the storage characteristics for these objects, ensuring database performance
- Maintain and monitor the use of the corporate data dictionary
- Establish physical database parameters
- Code database descriptions and specifies identifiers of database to database management system
- Run server health check reports on the consistency and availability of database servers
- Detect and investigate problems in the database software and hardware
- Write programs to correct and resolve any identified issues
Requirements for this IT Database Administrator (Oracle) job in Johannesburg:
- 3-Year IT Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
- Certification as an Oracle Database 11g Administrator is an advantage
- 7 years’ experience administering database systems in large environments, specifically Oracle11G and 12C
- Experience working with PL / SQL database structure development and analysis
- Networking and operating system experience in Windows and Linux is an advantage
- Experience in the gaming, hospitality and working with ERP systems is preferred
- Specialised knowledge of techniques, equipment and processes relating to database administration practices, services and suppliers
