Synopsis
A leading company seeks to employ an IT Manager: Development to lead a group of IT Developers and Solution Specialists in providing Microsoft application development and support services to enable the strategic and operational objectives of the business

Minimum Requirements
Required 7 years functional Microsoft Development - design experience
Required 5 years IT Industry Management/Leadership position experience
Microsoft Development - OO and Web experience

Knowledge / Skills & Attributes:
• Understanding of Microsoft Applications Development in an environment that uses:
• SharePoint, .NET Framework, SQL, JQuery, MVC, Visual Studio, etc.
• Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies
• Understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Understanding of .NET framework and languages
• Experience in managing a team of developers and analysts
• Must be well organized and detail oriented
• Must be a proactive, creative thinker with exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
• A solid understanding of web design, accessibility, usability, information architecture, scalability and security
• Requires clear and effective oral communication
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Work in a collaborative team environment

Specific Outcomes
• Contribute to defining application development and support strategies for Microsoft applications
• Ensure appropriate, up-to-date methodologies are applied including SDLC, Scrum, Agile
• Manage overall development and implementation of applications
• Provide input into application planning and preparation phases
• Review application design to ensure appropriateness for business need
• Manage Microsoft application maintenance and support
• Periodically review new technologies within the Microsoft space
• Review Common Code, Standards and Frameworks
• Manage Microsoft application incident and problem resolution
• Manage quality and timely delivery of applications
• Manage and support releases
• Co-ordinate outages
• Manage maintenance requirements
• Ensure work orders are executed as per agreed IS processes and methodologies
• Manage resource allocation
• Agree the work order deliverables and timing with internal clients
• Support the IT processes – define activities and responsibilities for development relevant processes
• Manage RFEs/changes/problems/incidents
• Work planning and scheduling
• Provide input to process meetings, where required
• Review and ensure maintenance of process documentation
• Liaise with other process owners
• Support IT Service Management process owners and managers in ensuring process compliance (ITIL)
• Report service group relevant process performance in Mancom on a monthly basis
• Manage all ITSM process performance dependencies in own team
• Identify areas for process improvement in own team
• Assist in defining Application Development strategies
