The successful candidate will manage the demand and supply of IT capabilities to enable the processing of both Traditional Life as well as Group Schemes products in multiple African countries, ensuring appropriate architecture decisions are made in integrating a vendor package solution

This entails reaching consensus on delivery plans with the International BU and then matching this with delivery via our selected Vendor partner and various Client shared services providers.

What you'll need:                   

  • A relevant degree in Information Systems or degree with a minimum of 10 years work experience in Solution Architecture, Business Process and Systems Analysis, System Configuration/Development, Test and Release management as well as Quality assurance.

  • Prior experience managing the provision of a common solution to a wide group of clients, preferably across the African continent.

  • Ability to provide IT Architecture input/guidance to teams.

  • Strong Vendor management and contracting skills.

  • Ability to engage and contract with senior management in a large corporate context covering both Business and Shared Services leadership as well as other IT Application departments.

  • Experience in the ongoing delivery of new solutions while ensuring adequate ongoing support for the existing IT Exergy solution in own and countries’ teams, by defining and ensuring adherence to agreed engagement models.

  • Project experience; rollout of new capabilities, migrations  of systems (Formal Project Management certification (PRINCE2, PMP will be beneficial).

  • Experience in virtual team management with a passion to lead and build talent and future leadership.

Responsibilities and work outputs

  • Supporting the Legacy Solution and International CIO’s in the formulation and delivery of agreed cost effective system strategy.

  • Engagement with the selected solution Vendor to ensure the vendor understands and supports the roadmaps and delivery plans.

              Service Level Agreement management with the package vendor:          

    • Formulation and refinement of SLAs

    • Monitoring and Evaluation of the Vendor adherence to the SLA

SLAs will cover:

  • In-country Operations

  • 2nd line systems support

  • Project Delivery

  • Quality Assurance

              Coordinating Management Meetings and producing team progress reports.

              Liaising with country Operational heads with respect to their: 

    • System and Operational Requirements

    • Responsibility to build local skills in country to provide:     

    • 1st line support

    • Training

    • Awareness of new functionality that can be adopted by the country operational teams

  • Assisting the Legacy Solutions IT Management team / Chief Information Officer with the monthly Solution Steering Committee to be attended by International and other CLIENT stakeholders.
