One of SA leading Professional Associations seeks an IT Manager to take responsibility for the strategic and day to day management of the IT department and its staff (Various sites). The person will coordinate and oversee projects relating to IT equipment and system which falls under the responsibility of the IT department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage information technology and computer systems division
• Strategic planning of ICT - Meet with managers to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs etc
• Supervise and guide the IT Support Technician
• Manage contractors to ensure delivery in terms of SLA
• Co-ordinate and manage vendors around data and systems when integration is required between systems and infrastructure
• Manage computer systems budgets and expenditure
• Developing and maintaining documentation related to I.T. infrastructure
• Ensure disaster recovery policy is in place
• Implement Audit

Make certain that technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software:
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system
• Training of new users of existing technology

Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access:
• Troubleshoot all technology issues
• Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
• Make recommendations about purchase of technology resources
• Provide network access to all staff and students
• Install work stations
• Connect and set up hardware
• Ensure IP and optimum usage of all software
• Monitor security of all technology
• Identify and prepare hardware for disposal

Educational requirements for the position:
• Degree / Diploma in Computer Technology
• Certification such as MCP, A+ preferred

Minimum previous work experience required:
• 4-6 years’ experience in providing workstation support
