IT Operations and Support Manager – Sandton Our client has a fast paced, changing environment and requires a hands-on, committed, IT operations manager with at least 5 years experience to lead and manage a small team.
Duties
- Manage, maintain and support the companies hosted network infrastructure with Cloud providers to ensure delivery of services
- Designing new systems and network infrastructure to ensure a cost effective
- Ensure timely resolution of all infrastructure issues and other related system problems by providing 2nd and 3rd level support based on agreed SLAs.
- Support, maintain, and design implementation of IT infrastructure
- Lead Network Operations function that supports the day to day operations of the IT infrastructure
- Network, System, Application, Database and Telecommunications
- Lead the implementation, administration, maintenance and support of data connections; LAN, WAN, VPN and Internet connections
- Lead the implementation, administration, maintenance and support of the enterprise systems that includes operating systems, business applications, telecommunication and database infrastructure to ensure optimal performance of the corporate systems.
- Produce and review performance statistics and capacity trends
- Manage and support IT related projects
- Change management, Capacity management, Availability management, Security management and Service Level management
- Conduct timely performance appraisals, objective setting, coaching and training of the team.
- Setting of yearly budget for Opex and Capex items.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor degree / Diploma in computer engineering or IT related field courses
- Minimum 5 years solid hands on experience in system and network infrastructure & support.
- Must have valid/relevant experience in deploying, Installation, Configuration and Management
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE: Server Infrastructure)
- Extensive Windows Server Administration experience & Network configuration experience with a Microsoft best practice approach.
- Experience working with desktop and server Infrastructure and their respective enablement technologies
- Expertise in latest Microsoft systems
- Cisco infrastructure (advantageous)
- Strong Administration and Support skills in the Microsoft server suite, Exchange 2010, Sharepoint 2010, SQL Server 2008 and IIS 7.5 running on VMWARE virtualized infrastructure
- Experience working with Firewall and relative security related products for Threat management – preferably Fortigate.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a technical team
- ITIL and Project Management
- Motivate staff faced with heavy workload and aggressive timelines.
- Be updated with latest technology and innovative tools.
