We are looking for a unique individual to head up its IT Operations team in Cape Town. IT operations is focused on planning, deploying, supporting and enhancing all IT systems used primarily in production. The successful candidate will be a good manager of the team reporting into him but will also have a comprehensive technical understanding of systems under his/her control. Furthermore, the IT Operations Manager will strive for 100% uptime, and have clear strategies of how to provide 2nd and 3rd level support to customers and partners alike. This is a hands-on role.

Responsibilities of the role include:
• Management of all IT services, processes, systems and technology for the business
• Management of networks, servers, corporate support applications, customer facing/revenue generating applications to support business operations
• Manage existing Application Support team and develop and expand it to meet the growing workload.
• Ensure stable, reliable, tuned and highly available systems for all currently deployed systems and solutions.
• Ensure all system related Service Level Agreements are met for solution availability and reliability.
• Continually improve the IT Operations team, processes and systems.
• Define, document, implement and measure all IT operational support processes
• Maintain system processes documentation.
• Maintain and implement best practices and audit requirements as needed, including Change Management, Disaster Recovery and all routine IT production processes.

In order to be considered for the position, the following requirements must be met:
• B-Tech Degree/Bachelor’s Degree (Software Development)
• 5 years management/team leader experience
• Python / MySQL/ AWS / Mimecast / Microsoft Server, Office365, CRM, SharePoint, Exchange exposure
• Ability to relate to products/hardware/server
• Resource Planning Skills/ Planning and Organizing
