JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Program Director you will be responsible for ensuring successful    implementation of the agreed project, managing the team, and delivering the required  solution to customer satisfaction within budget.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
 
Project Management
  • Map contracts and statements of work to project management plans incorporating project approach, communication and risk management strategies
  • Creates and executes Project work Plans (Project Charter) and Project Schedule
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
  • Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards.
  • Minimizes our exposure and risk on project.
  • Define inherent project risks and map out mitigation plans with appropriate communication to company and client executive management.
  • Effectively raise and manage Change Requests as per the governance set out in the Statement of Work. Revises Project Schedule as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
  • Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
  • Ensure the Project File is up to date with all the relevant project contracts, artifacts, Milestone signoff, invoices, expenses etc.
Financial & Commercial awareness
  • Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis. Approves team members' time and expense reports in a conscientious and timely manner.
  • Manages project budget.
  • Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project.
  • Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization.
  • Understands our pricing model and billing procedures.
  • Accurately forecasts revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization.
  • Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
  • Ensure OpenAir is setup according to internal rules and best practice. These include tasks, booking grid to be updated weekly, ensure new team members get access to OpenAir, reporting etc. Verify OA data quality, timesheets and project financial overview weekly.
Staff Management
  • Managing projects, using Local, Global and 3rd party resources, to ensure the successful implementation of the business solution
  • Co-ordinate long and short term resource requirements for the duration of the project.
  • Pro-actively monitor visa expiry dates for resources with work permits.
  • Responsible for management of team including but not limited to ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and provides constructive feedback about employee’s performance for KPI reviews & ratings.
  • Plan & manage resource leave schedules a Quarter in advance and provide feedback to management. Ensure customer planned leave schedule is known to you in order to prevent any impact on your critical path on the project schedule, especially for Fixed Price contracts.
  • Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures Customer Management
  • Manages day-to-day client interaction.
  • Sets and manages client expectations.
  • Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties.
  • Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  • Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Builds a knowledge base of each client's business, organization and objectives.
  • Conduct and coordinate Customer Satisfaction Survey report and Customer Case studies and prepare and submit comprehensive reports on all aspects of improvement based on feedback from the customer.
Business Development & Contract Management
  • Identifies business development and "add-on" sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project.
  • Participate in proposal efforts including completing project scoping and LOE assessments.
  • Effectively conveys our message in both written and verbal business development discussions.
  • Assist & participate in any legal discussions which include, but are not limited to contract initiation to signoff of the relevant legal documentation related to the project, could be a Master Framework Agreement and/or Statement of Work or any other legal contract between Software AG and the customer.
  • Assist in preparation of contracts and other related documents between Software AG and any other 3rd party vendors (for example Change Management vendor, vendor for codelivery) involved in the project.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
 
Essential
  • PRINCE 2 or PMI Certification
  • Experience of Government and/or Financial Projects
Desirable
  • Degree of Equivalent
  • SOA / Integration
  • BPM experience
  • Java/XML/Component Based Systems
  • Web Technologies & Deployment
Technical Understanding
  • Independent management of large and/or risky national and/or international projects,primarily in the BPM and SOA environment.
  • 5-8 years experience as Project Manager in large IT projects and organizations.
  • Ideally, proven knowledge of various project implementation methodologies like agile development.
  • Experience delivering a project on behalf of a consulting or vendor organization is a plus.
  • Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements.
