Our Client has a vacancy for a Project Manager to join their IT Team.
 
Duties:
  • Be accountable for delivering program results on project initiatives.
  • Translate program requirements into individual project objectives.
  • Track / reports progress of multiple projects.
  • Influence team direction & results both internally and with the client base.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-competency area participation & contacts appropriate personnel.
  • Balance resources, schedules & financial factors while solving complex problems with multi-discipline approach.
  • Work directly with the customer base to understand the level of support the team provides.
  • Facilitate complex team meetings involving a variety of multi-disciplinary teams, programmes and resources.
  • As a business partner ensure business decisions are reached to support business goals and objectives.
  • Develops and directs the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards where applicable for the assigned program; interprets and complies with all applicable legislation and regulations.
  • Monitors and directs or performs day-to-day operations of the assigned program to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed, that goals and objectives are met, and that services and projects are being accomplished efficiently and effectively.
  • Takes corrective action as necessary and, where subordinates are present, may relieve them of the most difficult, sensitive or controversial projects within the program.
  • Develops and monitors the program's budget; oversees financial well-being of the program by analyzing cost effectiveness and exercising cost controls; prepares, submits and justifies budget enhancement requests to the PMO Manager.
  • Plans, organizes, administers, reviews and evaluates the work of subordinate professional, technical, support and operational staff where present, through subordinate supervisors and lead workers.
  • Provides regular written and presented feedback to the PMO Manager and other stakeholders and managing regular team meetings as well as minute all project meetings
  • Monitors and stays abreast of technological, legal and operational changes that affect the activities and work processes of the program; makes recommendations for and develops and carries out improvements to the program to meet changing mission parameters and requirements.
  • Confers with and represents the program and the department in meetings with other line departments and divisions; serves as the project representative with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and foster collaborative working relationships to the benefit of the program and the department.
  • Ensuring the successful handover of project to operations and delivering a finalisation report to the PMO Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead, coach and mentor team members to help them achieve expectations and deliverables.
  • Generate alternatives & improve creative solutions.
  • Creation and support of standards, processes and procedures necessary to produce the deliverables from the team.
  • Act as liaison between all functional groups.
  • Possess the ability to think critically in order to contribute towards the formulation and implementation of the PMO strategy.
 
Qualification required:
  • Degree plus a Postgraduate Qualification.
 
Skills and Experience Required:
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in project management with proven history of successful general management.
  • Provide a history of successful project planning, analysis, project control, including risk assessment, cost management and change control.
  • Possession of the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
  • Have strong communication skills, both written and oral with public presentation experience.
  • Well-developed leadership skills in a matrix organization structure.
  • Strong Customer focus in all dealings
  • Proven ability at operating at a senior level in the private sector
  • Excellent planning and organisation capabilities, help to remove barriers to success by providing resources, best practice and methodology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - promote PMO to be a success factor to all business-critical projects.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral with public presentation experience.
  • Well-developed leadership skills in a matrix organization structure.
