A multinational company based in Cape Town is seeking the expertise of an IT Security Specialist
Salary = R 900k to R 1 million p/a

Job Purpose:
The IT Operations team is responsible for managing existing services in a secure managing and setting the overall strategic direction of the Organisation from a security perspective:
• Reports to the IT Operations Manager
• Sets the overall vision in terms of IT Security Services and Solutions.
• Accountable for the implementation and delivery of approved solutions using the Company’s standard project delivery framework including the transition of the solution as required.
• Responsible for the design and implementation of approved security solution across the entire Company’s Networks ensuring a consistent implementation across the entire Network Estate
• Create a cyber-security road map and prioritize plans to implement.
• Create cyber security incident response capability and co-ordinate remediation with operational teams.
• Develop incident response playbooks.
• Perform regular risk assessments and keep management aware of threats.
• Investigate cyber security breaches and recommend remedial actions.
• Conduct post incident reviews and suggest process improvements.
• Conduct threat monitoring and intelligence gathering, and proactively put measures in place to mitigate any risks.
• Generate operational and management security reports.
• Manage vulnerability scans and regular penetration tests, and manage issues to closure.
• Oversee patch management and report on compliance.
• Oversee health of antivirus solutions.
• Research new and innovative technologies to address cyber security threats.
• Track operational PCI-DSS and GDPR compliance.
• Act as a technical lead on security POC’s and projects, such as anti-malware and SIEM implementations.

Principal Accountabilities:
• Works under direction of the Operations Manager.
• Drives and implements the overall Group Strategy for IT security.
• Accountable for the overall agreed IT security design and delivery thereof.
• Contributes to selection of standard procedures and tools, and carries out defined tasks associated with the planning, installation, upgrade, operation, control and maintenance of the chosen IT Security solutions
• Ensures that documentation of the implemented systems and software is available and in an appropriate form for consumption by the Operations Team. Ensures log entries of user contacts provide sufficient information for the resolution of subsequent faults and problems.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
•Bachelor’s Degree preferred in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience or technical degree.
•A relevant internationally recognised security qualification (e.g. CISSP)
•Minimum of 8 years working cyber security operations experience.
•Functional understanding and support experience of IT infrastructure in the following technology areas:
- Extensive design experience of secure and robust environments and solutions.
- Extensive architectural exposure to a wide variety of scenarios within large commercial operations.
- SIEM design and implementation.
