R18 000 - R20 000 per month. The successful candidate will join an existing team of support specialists and will focus on providing security support, administration and maintenance services to customers. The range of security technologies used by customers typically includes network firewalls, VPN, IPS, secure web gateways, secure e-mail gateways, anti-virus, encryption and user authentication.

Specific responsibilities:
System monitoring and alert response;
System health checks and reporting;
Telephonic and e-mail support to customers;
Remote access or on-site troubleshooting;
Remote or on-site system administration and configuration;

Minimum qualification/s:
Grade 12 certificate;
Tertiary/industry qualifications that include IT systems and networking related courses;

Minimum experience:
3 years uninterrupted employment (at least 2 years at one company).

Minimum skills and other attributes:
Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Internet protocols;
Working knowledge of both Windows and Unix/Linux;
Experience with supporting networking devices;
Good English communication skills (both written and verbal);

Desirable qualification/s and experience:
Security related qualifications an advantage;
Experience as a network service provider support engineer (e.g. ISP support engineer) an advantage;
Experience with anti-virus, firewalls and/or other security technologies an advantage;
Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux an advantage;
